Adelaide-based beverage maker Mischief Brew has teamed up with premium spice brand, Pep, to launch The Doc – a naturally brewed pepper soda that delivers bold flavour and a twist on a nostalgic classic.

Blending Pep’s single-origin black pepper from Cambodia’s volcanic Memot region with Mischief Brew’s signature small-batch craft approach, The Doc combines peppercorns with a proprietary mix of 13 fruits, roots, herbs, and spices. The result is a peppery, citrus-forward soda with a familiar cherry note that bridges spice and sweetness in one sip.

Mischief Brew co-founders, Dan Cox and Scott Giles said they were on board before Pep even finished pitching the idea.

“The Doc is more than a drink – it’s the result of two teams who can’t resist pushing each other’s ideas further,” Cox said.

Pep co-founders Myki Slonim, Royce Akers, and Josh Gardiner said the collaboration was “a joy”, adding that Mischief Brew’s past partnerships with Saison Aperitifs and Mat’s Hot Shop were “the stuff of drinks-fridge legend”.

“We’re ready to hit spring with a spicy bang, they said.”

The Doc is available online from September 10 via the Mischief Brew and Pep web stores, and will roll out to retailers nationwide this week.
