Karma Bites is releasing a high protein, low fat, and mineral dense snack for the health-conscious consumer with its Popped Lotus Seed bites.

For founder Ashwin Ahuja, Karma Bites was the answer to his search for a healthy snack which he found through one of his family’s common household snacks, the lotus seed.

Ahuja’s business partner and DJB Food Group founder and managing director David Burn, launched Karma Bites in Australia 12 months ago after success in the UK and 20 countries.

“After stumbling across Karma Bites at the Anuga Food Show in Germany in October 2019, I noticed a gap in the Australian market for an innovative, funky snack brand and knew it would pop off shelves,” said Burn.

Available in Himalayan Salt, Peri Peri, and Caramel flavours, the 100 calories per serve gluten-free snack is vegan, free of refined sugar and artificial ingredients.

Karma Bites Popped Lotus Seed bites are available at Woolworths for RRP $2.95.

Packaging News

As 2025 draws to a close, it is clear the packaging sector has undergone one of its most consequential years in over a decade. Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.

Pact has reported a decline in revenue and earnings for the first five months of FY26, citing subdued market demand, as chair Raphael Geminder pursues settlement of the long-running TIC earn-out dispute.
