Brewed in Sydney and designed for consumers who want to moderate their alcohol intake, Australian craft brewery James Squire has launched its own no alcohol beer, Zero.

James Squire parent company Lion's marketing director Anubha Sahasrabuddhe said the alternative beer was crafted using advanced technologies.

“Our investment in a $6 million de-alcoholising plant shouts Lion’s commitment to the category, but also a desire to produce the best zero alcohol beer on the market using the best tech in the world. We think we’ve done that,” said Sahasrabuddhe.

The drink contains a balance of malt and hop notes for a finish.

Sahasrabuddhe said they have been overwhelmed with the performance of James Squire’s previous products and expect this launch to do the same. “Last year saw the launch of James Squire Ginger Beer, now the number one alcoholic ginger beer in Australia. James Squire Broken Shackles Lager, also launched last year, now makes up 15 per cent of total James Squire sales.”

James Squire Zero is available nationally from major liquor stores and supermarkets for RRP $44.00 per case.

Packaging News

As 2025 draws to a close, it is clear the packaging sector has undergone one of its most consequential years in over a decade. Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.

Pact has reported a decline in revenue and earnings for the first five months of FY26, citing subdued market demand, as chair Raphael Geminder pursues settlement of the long-running TIC earn-out dispute.
