Heinz has released a ‘one pan’ range, aiming to make traditionally time-consuming meals like risotto and paella quicker than cooking from scratch or ordering delivery.

The range is available in three varieties:

  • Italian Style Risotto
  • Spanish Style Veg Paella
  • Moroccan Style Couscous

Heinz Australia CMO Rebecca Preston said the new range would lend a helping hand in the kitchen – something Aussie consumers were seeking.

“Covid and lockdowns led to consumers seeking more convenience with food – whether that be with food hacks or the increased popularity of food delivery services. We’re also seeing that tomorrow’s consumers are looking beyond one-serve, tray-based, microwave meals. They want time saving solutions that involve them in the cooking process,” said Preston.

With the movement towards more flexitarian eating, the Heinz One Pan range is vegetarian-friendly and can be enjoyed as is. Alternatively, the dishes can be customised for any meal occasion by adding extras. Each product includes a serving of vegetables per serve, with no additional oil or seasoning needed.

Heinz One Pan products are $10 RRP (two serves per bag), and are available at Woolworths and independents.

Packaging News

The former CEO of Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), Brooke Donnelly, has been appointed as general manager, Sustainability at Coles Group, and will start in the role on 3 October.

Digital flexibles packaging print producer ePac will build a second plant in Australia or New Zealand within 18 months, with the location yet be decided.

Orora’s Australian packaging operation delivered what the company said was a robust result for the financial year, with glass finding new markets, but it was in the US where the big growth took place.
