Glenglassaugh Distillery has released a new portfolio, releasing a flagship 12 Year Old Single Malt, and welcoming two more releases to Australia, dating back to the 60s and 70s.

As with all Glenglassaugh single malts, the new whisky has been gently matured in the distillery’s coastal warehouses overlooking the rolling surf of Sandend Bay.

Shaped by the influences of land and sea, the portfolio is supported by new design direction, inspired by the coastal spirit.

Brown-Forman Single Malts master blender, Rachel Barrie, said, “The new portfolio brings together all the key elements of Glenglassaugh’s spirit. Inspired by its coastal location, the new expressions transport us to a place where the spirit is awakened and soul invigorated, inviting us to take a breath and appreciate our surroundings,” said Barrie.

Two other new whiskies, Sandend and Portsoy, respectively also express coastal elements of Glenglassaugh, and are set to be released in Australia later in the year.

Sandend is matured in bourbon, sherry and manzanilla casks with a touch of sea-salt. Portsoy reflects a bold maritime flavour; a rich peated single malt, matured in sherry, bourbon and port casks.

The three new Glenglassaugh expressions will be available nationwide from September at specialist whisky stockists for RRP AUD $110.00 12 Year Old, $120.00 Sandend and Portsoy $132.00.

Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.
