Atkins has released its on-the-go chocolate covered almonds, targeted to consumers as a low-carb and low-sugar snack.

Natural roasted almonds have been dipped in milk chocolate, with only 1.5g of sugar and 2.4g of carbs per pouch.

Richard Sullivan, Simply Good Foods managing director, and Atkins’ parent company, said the new Chocolate Covered Almonds are fast becoming a favourite among consumers with a sweet tooth.

“We’ve noticed a growing desire from our customers who are looking beyond weight management to options that will improve their overall health through smarter food and snacking options – that includes confectionery,” said Sullivan.

“The Chocolate Covered Almonds are an excellent example of how a sweet treat does not have to derail your healthy lifestyle choices.”

Atkins Chocolate Covered Almonds are sold in five-packs (30g pouches) and can be found online at Catch, and soon available in select Coles stores later this month.
