Australian-made ice cream brand, Elato, has unveiled its latest flavour: Fig Ripple, made with gluten-free ice cream combined with a jam of dried figs, cinnamon, ginger and cardamom.
Created by Roz Kaldor-Aroni, founder and 'ice cream scientist,' Elato’s Fig Ripple upholds the brand's commitment to pushing back from using cheap ingredients, chemicals, and excessive aeration used to ‘fluff up’ traditional ice cream products.
The fig jam was developed in collaboration with not for profit SisterWorks, a social enterprise that provides entrepreneurship and employment training and work placement to migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking women in Australia. Since 2013 they have helped over 2000 women from 105 countries.
The release follows Elato’s Coffee ice cream recently winning the 2022 Queensland Dairy Industry award for best ice cream. The Fig Ripple and Coffee ice cream also won gold at the 2023 Sydney Royal Dairy Competition, its Vegan Dark Chocolate won the Best “Free From” product at the Naturally Good Awards and Fig Ripple won Best Ice Cream in the 2023 Melbourne Australian Food Awards.
Committed to being a force for good, proceeds from each tub support OzHarvest, with Elato raising donations equivalent to having gifted over 10,000 meals.
Elato’s Fig Ripple Ice Cream and the rest of its range are available at Woolworths stores and are also available via Uber Eats and Milkrun.
