Eclipse mints turn purple

Responding to consumer demand, Mars-Wrigley have released a new Eclipse Mint Grape flavour that it says captures the nostalgic flavour of Hubba Bubba gum, or a grape flavoured slushie.

Developed in Australia by Mars Wrigley’s Asquith-based R&D team, the new addition combines mint with grape.

With the gum and mints category a growth engine for Mars Wrigley, the company says this new product will inject fun into the mints category after a challenging 24 months due to COVID-19 lockdowns.

Mars Wrigley R&D director Chris Hutton said the innovation was an exciting one for the company and broader mints category.

“With more than 60 years of manufacturing history in Asquith, we’re a proud Australian manufacturer and are continuing to invest and innovate new products across our gum and mints portfolio locally,” said Hutton.

As well as Eclipse, Mars Wrigley’s Asquith factory produces brands such as Extra, Skittles, and Juicy Fruit.

Eclipse Grape is available now in major supermarkets and convenience stores nationwide.
