PepsiCo is bringing back a nostalgic flavour to Australian shelves next week, with the re-launch of Cool Ranch Doritos from 30 July.

After surveying 1000 Australians, PepsiCo found nearly 40 per cent of Gen Z and millennial consumers are calling for a Cool Ranch comeback, as nostalgia trends sweep the nation – with 88 per cent of Gen Z and 91 per cent of millennials saying snacks from the past bring them joy.

The launch is backed by a scavenger hunt style event across Doritos Australia’s TikTok and Instagram channels, with the opportunity to win a year’s supply of Doritos Cool Ranch.

PepsiCo’s survey showed more than half (54 per cent) of Gen Z have hunted down elusive snacks in stores, while 48 per cent of millennials have done the same, and social media heavily influences Gen Z snack choices, with 74 per cent discovering new snacks through social channels and 58 per cent purchasing snacks after seeing them trending online.

Doritos marketing manager, Kathryn Miller, said Cool Ranch has been one of the brand’s most requested flavours, so the company knew it had to launch it in a big and unexpected way.

“What better than an adult treasure hunt for today’s big kids? This is for fans who live for the rush, hate missing out and thrive on flavour-fuelled FOMO,” said Miller.

“This is your chance to join the hunt – the chase is on, and you might just score a year’s supply of Cool Ranch!”

Doritos Cool Ranch hits 7-Eleven stores from 30 July, before landing nationally in Coles, Woolworths, convenience and other retailers from 1 September.
