Barossa Valley winery, Château Tanunda, has released an exclusive 2023 Limited Reserve Grand Barossa Shiraz Magnum to celebrate the Year of the Snake – the fifth instalment in a series of Lunar New Year collectible magnums.

Established in 1890, Château Tanunda is known as the birthplace of the Barossa Valley and home to a selection of the region's oldest vines. Its latest product is a wine with lifted aromas of blackberry, plum, and black pepper, accompanied by spicy, dark berry fruits on the palate.

The limited edition wine is made from a selection of Shiraz vineyard sites across the Barossa, with careful blending and maturation in a combination of French and American oak in the Château Tanunda cellars.

Managing director of Château Tanunda, Michelle Geber, said the Lunar New Year collection has become one of the company’s most eagerly awaited traditions.

“The Year of the Snake edition continues this legacy, showcasing an intricately designed label that captures the grace and mystique of the snake, a symbol of wisdom and determination,” said Geber.

The Limited Reserve Grand Barossa Shiraz 2023 ‘Year of the Snake’ Edition Magnum is available from Château Tanunda’s Barossa and Sydney cellar doors, at select independent retailers, and online at chateautanunda.com for RRP $79.00.

ACOR is calling on the Government to urgently introduce packaging reforms or risk the collapse of Australia’s plastic recycling sector and face millions of tonnes of plastic waste polluting the environment.

As 2025 draws to a close, it is clear the packaging sector has undergone one of its most consequential years in over a decade. Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.
