A new spirits brand has hit the Australian market, innovating the sector by blending two beloved beverages – tequila and cabernet sauvignon. Casa Tinto has launched Tequila Cab Sav, bringing together Jalisco tequila and South Australian Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

The company stated early trials were chaotic, but the concept evolved through persistence, play, and refinement.

With tasting notes of ripe black cherry, cassis, and dark plum meeting subtle threads of vanilla and oak, the finish is smooth and lingering.

“This isn’t about shock value, it’s about reinvention with purpose,” stated the company.

“Equal parts conversation starter and bar cart statement piece, Casa Tinto blends craftsmanship with curiosity, creating a spirit that’s both innovative and undeniably drinkable. Tequila for the table, not just the shot glass.”

Casa Tinto is now available exclusively online at tinto.casa, for RRP $84.95.

Packaging News

The World Packaging Organisation has named 234 winners for the WorldStar Packaging Awards 2026, which were selected from 481 entries submitted across 36 countries.

ACOR is calling on the Government to urgently introduce packaging reforms or risk the collapse of Australia’s plastic recycling sector and face millions of tonnes of plastic waste polluting the environment.

As 2025 draws to a close, it is clear the packaging sector has undergone one of its most consequential years in over a decade. Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.
