Bird in Hand’s whisky brand, The Bird, is spreading its wings with the launch of Bird Whisky – a new expression that’s lighter, brighter, and crafted for connection. The release is the first new product since the debut of The Bird.

Bird is designed to expand the brand’s vision of creating whisky for genuine shared moments. It is positioned as the approachable sibling in the family – relaxed, balanced, and accessible in both character and price, yet made with the same meticulous craftsmanship and integrity.

Co-founder Mark Bouris said the release was born from the same ethos that inspired The Bird: friendship and authenticity.

“With Bird, we wanted to create something that reflects the spirit of friendship. It’s crafted with the same care and attention as The Bird, but with a more easy-going character. For us, whisky has always been about connection – those small, meaningful moments that matter most,” Bouras said.

Crafted predominantly from whisky matured in bourbon casks and complemented by apera-finished barrels, Bird delivers delicate citrus and creamy aromas on the nose, opening into flavours of baked shortbread, soft vanilla and barley-sugar sweetness, with a lingering finish of buttery cream and honeyed accents.

Co-founder Paul Giles described the whisky as “bright, balanced and easy to enjoy – smooth and sincere, a whisky made for sharing.”

Bird Whisky launches on 27 October 2025 (700ml, RRP $89.99). For more information, visit thebird.com.au or follow @thebirdwhisky on Instagram.
