Greens & Goodness, the newest brand from Baiada, the group behind poultry brands, Lilydale Free Range Chicken and Steggles, has launched a new plant-based range of frozen meals and snacks, made with a premium pea-based protein exclusive to Woolworths.

The new Greens & Goodness range includes Golden Crumbed Garlic & Herb Schnitzel, Golden Tempura Nuggets, Saucy Garlic & Parsley Kievs and Spicy Bombay Tenders.

With seventy per cent of Australian households varying their sources of protein for each meal, Greens & Goodness says it identified a gap in the market for consumers wanting to try something new and to meet the needs of different household members.

Made in Australia, Greens & Goodness developed the new frozen range to further improve convenience for consumers of plant-based food, looking to try a new protein source that offers nutritional benefits, tastes great and is healthy and satisfying.

The new frozen range joins Greens & Goodness’ existing line of chilled range of meals and snacks, making it easier for consumers to prepare and share plant-based products.

According to the research of 2000 Australian consumers conducted by Baiada, one-in-four households now include at least one vegetarian, vegan or meat reducer, representing nearly $26 billion in household consumer spending.

While existing plant-based protein offerings focus on wellness, research suggests that consumers are looking for greater convenience and improved taste and texture from current plant-based offerings.

Greens & Goodness is one of Australia’s first locally owned manufacturers and operators of plant-based food using this pea-based protein.

All Greens & Goodness products are made with a plant-based protein which is pea-based and peas are one of the most environmentally sustainable sources of protein, having a lower carbon footprint and water usage compared to other common protein sources.

The new frozen range in Woolworths joins existing product lines currently available at Romeo’s IGA.
