Western Australian brewing company, Gage Roads, and locally owned Balinese brewers, Kura Kura have teamed up to brew VayCay XPA, a crisp, tropical new pour. The limited release comes in at 4.6% ABV, and marks the first time an Australian and Bali brewery have come together on a brew.

Stacked with tropical inspired hops including Citra, Krush Cryo and Nelson Sauvin Kief, this XPA contains ripe guava, mango, passionfruit and lime aromas. An extra pale malt bill elevates those fresh citrus and tropical flavours, while it rounds out with a crisp, balanced and refreshing finish.

Head Brewer, Ross Brown said the company set out to brew a beer that reflected Gage Roads and Kura Kura, and fits with the climate and lifestyle loved in Bali and Western Australia.

“We’ve put together a Balinese inspired medley of hops – Citra, Nelson Sauvin and our new favourite hop – ‘Krush’,” said Brown.

“VayCay XPA bursts with ripe Guava, Mango, Passionfruit and Lime with some complex Sauv Blanc aromatics. An extra pale malt bill accentuates the fresh citrus and tropical punch flavours finishing crisp, balanced and very refreshing.”

“As the sun comes out I can’t wait for some frosty cans of VayCay XPA. It’s super fresh, hop forward and incredibly sessionable,” he said.

Kura Kura is 100 per cent Balinese owned, created by a father and son duo that were inspired to grow the local craft beer scene. Founder, Putu Wiranatha, said the company has always taken pride in its collaborations, but is taking it to new heights – partnering with a fellow brewer who shares passion for craft brewing.

“This collaboration marks a significant moment for us as the world begins to appreciate what Kura Kura brings to the table,” said Wiranatha.

The packaging features artwork from friend of both breweries, Perth born Balinese expat artist Reif Meyers. Every can tells a story of sun, surf, and island living, aiming to embody where the two cultures meet and thrive.

The fresh limited release comes as Gage Roads Brew Co’s Single Fin Summer Ale has started landing at local Bali bars and bottle shops for thirsty holiday makers loving the taste of home while on tour.

Gage Roads Brew Co x Kura Kura VayCay XPA is available in cans and kegs. A full list of stockists is available online at gageroads.com.au/beerfinder.
