McKenzie’s Foods is expanding its range of pantry staples with Pulse Plus, a new collection of nutritious, fast cooking grains and legumes.

The marketing manager for McKenzie’s Bianca Piscopo said the company had been providing quality food ingredients for 170 years.

“We’re delighted to expand on our current offering in the pulses space with our new Pulse Plus range, helping Australian home cooks to boost the nutritional value of their favourite family meals,” Piscopo said

Pulse Plus is a 350g pack of pulses and rice which cooks in under 30 minutes, with no need for overnight soaking. The range includes Lentils + Medium Grain Rice; Peas, Lentils + Brown Rice; and Peas + Long Grain Rice.

Piscopo said they are ideal for a hearty soup, salad, tray-bake, or sides to feed the whole family during the week.

“Almost any savoury recipe that calls for plain rice can be swapped to Pulse Plus for boosted nutrition, flavour and texture to your meal,” she said.

Go beyond plain white rice with double the amount of protein and eight times the fibre per Pulse Plus serving.

McKenzie’s new Pulse Plus range is available at Coles for RRP $3.30.
