Australia’s oldest operating rum distillery, Beenleigh, is celebrating its 140 years of operation with the release of a limited-edition rum, The Legend.

From its beginnings in 1884 to becoming a name synonymous with quality, Beenleigh Distillery has become a symbol of endurance and craftsmanship in the Australian spirits industry. The company is releasing 1884 bottles of The Legend globally to celebrate the 140 year milestone.

Crafted with the finest Queensland molasses, the exclusive rum offers a palate of toasted caramel, oak, and spice with a smooth, warming finish.

Beenleigh brand manager, Will Sullivan, said The Legend is more than just a rum – it’s a tribute to Australia’s spirit and the people who have supported us through generations.

“This special release embodies the craftsmanship we’ve honed over 140 years, and we’re excited to share it with both loyal fans and new drinkers,” said Sullivan.

“Beenleigh is more than just a distillery - it's a living, breathing symbol of resilience, craftsmanship, and community spirit.

“As we celebrate 140 years, we’re not only looking back at our history but also forward to continuing this journey with the next generation of rum lovers. This anniversary is a testament to everyone who has been part of our story - our drinkers, our makers, and our Queensland home,” he said.

Pre-order for the Beenleigh 140 year Anniversary Edition: The Legend is available at beenleighrum.com.au for RRP $80.00, and the rum will be released on 19 October.
