Peters Ice Cream has partnered with Gelato Messina on a new Drumstick X Messina range to be launched in supermarkets and convenience stores - but not Messina stores.

Peters Ice Cream, a subsidiary of European food firm R&R Ice Cream, has co-created four Messina-inspired flavours include Mango & Salted Coconut, Vanilla Bean & Peanut Praline, Roasted Hazelnut and Dulce de Leche.

“This truly was a 50/50 collaboration where both brands’ philosophies came together to take cones to the next level in Australia," Peters Ice Cream director of marketing, category and product technology Emma-Jane Collins said.

According to AdNews, this is not the first time Messina has branched out into collaborative branding and product partnership with the business teaming up with Arnotts in 2017 to create Gelato Messina Tim Tams.

Other previous partnerships with Peters Ice Cream has produced flavours inspired by Krispy Creme doughnuts, Jatz crackers and Arnott's Iced Vovo biscuits as well as Tim Tams.

The single-sell Drumstick X Messina's will be available in convenience stores for RRP $4.90 while supermarkets will sell the flavours in boxes of four for RRP $9.99
