Diageo has launched its Game of Thrones-inspired White Walker, which is served chilled and builds on its growing range of Johnnie Walker whiskies.

White Walker whisky tastings were held at Icebergs in Bondi, Sydney, and were hosted by National Johnnie Walker ambassador Simon McGoram.

White Walker is distinct from Johnnie Walker’s other whiskies because it is designed to be served straight from the freezer, preferably in chilled glasses, according to the McGoram, and the product's packaging is temperature-sensitive and reveals a hidden message once the bottle is chilled.

At the launch, the recently-crowned ‘World’s Best Bartender’ Australian Orlando Marzo shared his recipe for his ‘Highgarden Fizz’, which combines White Walker with jasmine and strawberry syrup, yuzu soda and is topped with jasmine flowers.

The event featured Game of Thrones-inspired décor, including ice sculptures and candlelight, and the menu included squid ink crackling redolent of dragon skin, and smoked red blood sausages.

The launch of White Walker has been timed to coincide with the current anticipation of the new season of Game of Thrones, which is set to premiere in April 2019.

White Walker by Johnnie Walker is available across Australia and has an RRP of $65 for 700ml.

White Walker will join a growing range of Johnnie Walker whiskies that include Johnnie Walker Red Label, Black Label, Double Black, Green Label, Gold Label Reserve, Aged 18 Years and Blue Label.
