With the use of 3D software, KHS Group now provides a virtual overview of all newly procured technologies at the offer stage.

It allows the systems provider to illustrate in detail – and in advance – how a client’s potential new line or single machine can be integrated into the production environment.

KHS’s latest software speeds up the 3D planning process so production environments that are spread out across several floors or located in confined spaces can be easily visualised. 3D line design can be applied to all machines in the KHS portfolio – regardless of the container or beverage segment.

To further improve planning security, KHS offers laser scans that can be integrated using the new software, which is particularly useful when integrating new systems into buildings that already contain machinery, as it prevents possible collisions with existing equipment.

Customers are increasingly requesting rendered images for system visualisation so that they can display and process live data from their MES on a production monitor. 3D data can also be used for the purpose of building information modelling.

Packaging News

The World Packaging Organisation has named 234 winners for the WorldStar Packaging Awards 2026, which were selected from 481 entries submitted across 36 countries.

ACOR is calling on the Government to urgently introduce packaging reforms or risk the collapse of Australia’s plastic recycling sector and face millions of tonnes of plastic waste polluting the environment.

As 2025 draws to a close, it is clear the packaging sector has undergone one of its most consequential years in over a decade. Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.
