AMS Instrumentation & Calibration is distributing a new point level monitoring and control solution from Fluid Components International (FCI).

Suited to process and plant engineers, the FLT Series switch offers accuracy, dual trip points and relays, according to the company.

It also has a SIL 2 rating for ultra-reliability and full Ex agency approvals on the complete instrument.

Point level monitoring and control are necessary in many industrial processes to prevent over-filling or under-filling, as well as provide a reliable “empty” notification.

Accurate switching ensures continuous plant operation without interruptions that could lead to quality issues, safety problems, regulatory issues and higher costs.

The FLT Switch provides point level and interface sensing in liquid, gas, or foam, and suits heavy duty environments (FLT93S) and small process connections requiring a fast, responsive switch (FLT93F).

Applications include wet/dry detection, sump-level detection, high/low level alarm and control, interface control in separation vessels, foam and sediment interface control, and agitation detection.

The FLT also features built-in temperature compensation which ensures repeatable and reliable operation, even in extreme environments, such as those found in the high temperature chemical refining and other process industries.

It's a pause, not a pivot: APCO has confirmed it will delay its proposed EPR fee model until beyond FY27 following industry stakeholder calls for more regulatory clarity, fairer fee structures, and time to prepare.

PKN’s latest issue is now out and includes a preview of the finalists in our Women in Packaging Awards; the gold winners of the 2025 PIDAs; and the latest developments in Pack & Label Printing, Sustainability, Health & Wellness Packaging, and Packaging & Processing Machinery.

The annual WorldStar Awards ceremony took place in Milan last week, with strong representation from the ANZ region, which finished 4th in the world overall. PKN joined the Aussies in attendance.
