The Sydney-based contract packer that opened a food manufacturing and packing plant in Sydney last year has been given a TGA licence to build a new packaging clean room on-site.

The company, Multipack, has the go-ahead to pack medical devices, pharmaceutical products, and complementary medicines in the new room.

Also on-site is a purpose-built temperature-controlled TGA-approved storage facility for up to 100 pallets.

Commenting on this next step in Multipack's expansion, company sales and marketing director Brad Devine said there was a growing demand for this type of specialist service.

"We have a dedicated therapeutic goods team ready to assist clients with a full suite of contract packaging services for their pharmaceutical products," he said.

"Multipack now offers industry-leading contract packaging under its FOOD, RETAIL and PHARMA business units, with each business operating under the highest level of accreditation appropriate for that sector."
