\Global automation systems company, Swisslog, has launched its latest ACPaQ automated mixed case palletiser for food and beverage distribution centres, scalable up to 500,000 cases per day.

The Automated Case Picking / Packing + SynQ (Software), or ACPaQ, is a data-driven case palletiser solution for aisle-friendly, store-ready and route-ready mixed case palletising. The solution takes single SKU inbound stock pallets and builds them into mixed SKU outbound order pallets in a desired sequence.

Store-friendly pallets are automatically built in distribution centres using the combination of Swisslog technology, such as the CycloneCarrier light goods shuttle system, conveyor systems and high performance de-palletising and palletising robots from German manufacturer, Kuka.

The system is configured using modules, and the mixed case palletiser software allows users to customise the palletising order to increase efficiency during in-store replenishment.

ACPaQ can be used in ambient temperature and chilled warehouse zones, and can handle a range of cartons, shrink wrapper or foiled packages, and pallet types used in retail and beverage industries.

Swisslog states that benefits for food and beverage companies include:

  • Flexibility – the solution is designed to grow as your business grows, with semi-automated and fully automated modules.
  • Efficiency – efficient process handling up to 1,000 units per hour, per robot, including almost all types of cartons, packages, or bins.
  • Reliability – reduces warehouse labour costs and picking failures compared to manual solutions. Able to work in environments from 0-40°C.

Swisslog has been operating in Australia since 1999, and has more than 100 local employees. More information about the company and its products can be found at swisslog.com/en-au.

Packaging News

As 2025 draws to a close, it is clear the packaging sector has undergone one of its most consequential years in over a decade. Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.

Pact has reported a decline in revenue and earnings for the first five months of FY26, citing subdued market demand, as chair Raphael Geminder pursues settlement of the long-running TIC earn-out dispute.

PKN brings you the top 20 clicks on our website this year, a healthy mix of surprise and no-surprise. Pro-Pac Packaging led the list, Women in Packaging came in at #4, and Zipform's paper bottle at #15.
