Treotham Automation has released a new Euchner door locking mechanism CTM, designed for use on small, lightweight doors and flaps. Safety specialists at Euchner have further added a hygienic version to the standard CTM for its use in the food industry, consisting of food-safe materials that are approved according to EU Regulation (EC).

This version includes smooth surfaces, rounded edges and materials resistant to cleaning agents.

The mechanism is transponder-coded and has a ball actuator supported on an elastomer bearing, securing doors with a small pivoting radii, due to its compact dimensions (120 x 26 x 25mm).

The door locking mechanism further features a bi-stable guard locking function is a new safety switch part of the CTM, where people can no longer be locked in unintentionally if the power fails.

Treotham says this type of guard locking offers maximum flexibility to the design engineer and the CTM’s intelligent communication capabilities future-proof it for Industry 4.0.

The CTM can be connected to other Euchner devices and also allows for connection to the new Euchner evaluation unit ESM-CB, which forwards the data to a higher-level control system.
