Freshwater Bev Tech has received this year's Gamechanger Award for its patent-pending unpasteurised production process, developed specifically to preserve bio-active compounds in the company's functional beverage brand, SUMMi Soda.

Freshwater Bev Tech has two consumer brands, Mrs Toddy’s Tonic and SUMMi Soda, and is focused on a non-pasteurised production process that retains the integrity of functional ingredients while delivering long shelf life, while creating functional concentrates for other brands.

Heat pasteurisation – the industry default – destroys the botanical compounds functional beverages are supposed to deliver. SUMMi’s bioactive preservation platform retains them without heat, synthetic fortification, or compromised shelf life. The brand offers a zero-sugar soda packed with functional ingredients including ginseng, tulsi, ginger, and vitamin C to help consumers unwind without booze, sugar crashes or fake energy. Early clinical trials show a trend toward reduced post-meal insulin demand.
