Queensland-based Stryda Brewing Co. has announced tennis player Nick Kyrgios is coming on board as co-owner and brand ambassador.

Launched in November 2023, the company has since released its first products – the full-bodied, low-calorie Classic Lager and New Age Lager. Aimed at younger consumers who are steering away from traditional beers, the lager range has been hitting shelves and venues across Australia since February.

“I’m excited to be part of Stryda,” said Kyrgios. “We’re here to shake things up, bring new energy to beer, and create something special for everyone to enjoy.”

The addition Kyrgios to the team aims to further energise the young brand, and drive its presence locally and internationally. The company states Kygrios will help them push boundaries, innovate, and carve out a unique space in the competitive market.

The former head brewer at Little Alchemist Brewing, Riaz Shalla, is heading up production for Stryda Brewing Co, with an aim to create brews that can appeal to any beer drinker.

“Stryda’s beers are designed to win the hearts of beer enthusiasts in Australia and around the world,” said Shalla.

“We focus on quality ingredients, balanced flavours, and a beer that suits any occasion. We want to put Australian beer on the map. It’s about that feeling you get when you crack open a bottle and share it with mates.”

Stryda beer is currently available at over 70 venues across the country, and online at strydabrewingco.com.

Stryda Brewing Co. CEO, David Gibson, said: “Our vision is to create a mainstream Australian brand that resonates with beer lovers both locally and globally. We are committed to building a brand with community at its heart.”

Australia has stepped firmly onto the global stage in support of an ambitious treaty to end plastic pollution, with Environment Minister Murray Watt announcing the nation’s commitment during the United Nations Ocean Conference in France. Meanwhile, local environmental leaders are urging the government to back its global words with accelerated domestic action.

Plastic resin made from recycled milk and juice bottles at a Pact-operated recycling facility in Melbourne meets US FDA safety requirements for use in HDPE food and drink packaging.

Packaging and IT recycling operation Close the Loop anticipates its second half EBITDA will fall by 50 per cent compared to the first half, on revenue that at around $99m will be similar to the first six months.
