East Coast Canning + Printing, Australia’s original mobile canning pioneer, has expanded its packaging offer with BulletProof – a new line of digitally printed aluminium cans designed to withstand harsh supply chains while delivering premium brand aesthetics and improved sustainability.
Already adopted by Yulli’s Brews for its Ranch Water RTD, BulletProof is drawing interest from across beverage sectors.
“We’re seeing an uptick in demand from all types now that BulletProof is available,” East Coast founder and general manager Chris Kelly told Food & Drink Business.

“Coffee and low-ABV wine products are especially keen, particularly those requiring pasteurisation.”
The new format offers matte and spot-gloss finishes, with tactile effects for visual and physical shelf appeal. For smaller producers, short-run digital printing allows cost-effective product customisation, seasonal campaigns and fast design iterations.
“Design freedom is practically unlimited,” Kelly said. “Matte, gloss, texture – and now no risk of scuffing or damage through transport or refrigeration.”
For craft brewers, BulletProof unlocks new potential. “We’ve seen core ranges, not just special releases, coming to us now,” Kelly said. “It’s a way for small breweries to compete on shelf with national brands, without the drawbacks of fragile finishes or huge minimum orders.”
Beyond aesthetics, BulletProof delivers on circularity goals. The all-aluminium format is kerbside recyclable, and by eliminating the need for labels or sleeves, the company has prevented over 50 million plastic components from entering the market.
“Consumers want less packaging and easier recycling – retailers want formats that hit sustainability targets,” said Kelly. “BulletProof ticks both boxes in one move.”
With durability that stands up to pasteurisation and the Australian climate, and finishes that rival traditional offset, BulletProof gives small producers – especially craft brewers – the tools to elevate their packaging and build stronger consumer engagement.
