Yida Group subsidiary, Ballarat Food Manufacturing, has leased its first Australian production facility at Cardinia Logistics Estate in Pakenham, Victoria. The company aims to manufacture Australia’s first locally made instant noodles from the 14,660 square metre facility, with production expected to commence in mid-2026.

Yida Group is one of China's largest business park developers and operators, and Ballarat Food Manufacturing appears to be its first foray into the Australian food industry. The company was listed on ASIC in April 2025 and seems to also be known as Ballarat Food Group.

Cardinia Logistics Estate is a speculative development led by Brookfield Properties, aiming to create a world-class industrial hub with flexible tenancy options. Ballarat Food Manufacturing’s five-year lease includes 14,020 square metres of warehouse space and a further 640 square metres of office space.

Ballarat Food Manufacturing founder and director, Zhong Chen, said the company would establish a new flagship manufacturing centre at the estate.

“Ballarat Food Group is aiming to produce Australia’s first locally made instant noodles, using high-quality and healthy ingredients such as premium Australian wheat, beef, and seafood,” said Chen.

“Aiming to offer a nutritious alternative to existing products, the company will promote this proudly Australian brand worldwide, showcasing local produce on the global stage.

“We were drawn to Brookfield Properties’ vision…and its proven expertise in delivering superior assets. The quality of the development, combined with Pakenham's strategic location and exceptional transport infrastructure, makes this the ideal base for our operations. This new, state-of-the-art facility will be the cornerstone of our supply chain, enabling us to better serve our customers and support our growth ambitions for years to come.”
