Lion’s XXXX beer is bringing back the limited-edition XXXX GOLD Pride In Your Origin cans for the second year in a row, celebrating the brand’s partnership with the Queensland Maroons.

Returning to the shelves across all major liquor retailers in Queensland, the limited-edition cans feature a number from 0-9 that can be used to make up one of Queensland’s 447 postcodes.

Lion head of marketing - Core Beer, Chris Allan, said that the return of the cans is an example of XXXX’s long standing relationship with the Queensland Maroons, and its commitment to the wider Queensland community.

“Through XXXX’s ongoing partnership with the Queensland Maroons, our brand has had the incredible ability to become an integral part of State of Origin celebrations. Last year, the postcode cans were immensely popular and we saw thousands of Queenslanders proudly lining up their postcode to represent their hometown pride.

“That’s why we decided to bring the cans back, to allow fans to feel connected to players and every other Queenslander who shares the same pride in their origin - whether they are tuning in from a local pub or their living room, everyone shares the same space when it comes to community pride.”

Queensland Maroons lock, Patrick Carrigan, said that it was exciting to have XXXX supporting Queenslanders beyond the team sponsorship.

“Bringing back the XXXX cans for a second year is great for all the fans at home to really feel like they are part of the origin series. Knowing we have the support of the entire state cheering us on with a XXXX tin in hand is only going to lead us into another victory!”

The 375ml cans are available for a limited time in specially marked XXXX GOLD 30-case at major liquor outlets across Queensland, while stocks last.
