It's been a lucrative week in the design build space with Wiley announcing big projects within both the sugar and salmon feed segments.

Wiley will work with both Finasucre's Bundaberg Sugar and Ridley on separate construction projects.

It will upgrade Bundaberg Sugar's terminal roofs under the direction of STL, the owner of the Queensland’s Bulk Sugar Terminals (BSTs), and operator Queensland Sugar Limited (QSL Operations).

The project, starting next month, involves the roof replacement and recladding of galbestos on two existing bulk sugar terminals, spanning over 30,000m2.

The terminals will remain in operation during construction.

This project is part of a larger scope of works by STL to replace roof cladding containing asbestos on 12 sugar storage sheds over a period of 11 years.

Wiley's other big project involves the design and construction of Ridley Corporation Limited's new extrusion mill, with Wiley acting as its principal contractor.

The new purpose-built mill, in Tasmania, will have an annualised capacity of up to 50,000 tonnes per annum, on-site bulk storage capacity, and fit-for-purpose warehouses for both raw materials and finished goods.

The mill will manufacture and supply feed primarily to the salmon industry, as well as other aquaculture species in Australia and in New Zealand.

Wiley and Ridley have been working together on the design over the past year, and they recently gained development approval for the project.
