Margaret River label Watershed Wines has returned to market under Calneggia Family Vineyards, eight years after the brand ceased operations, with original winemaker Sevérine Logan retained to lead production.

Calneggia Family Vineyards, a Western Australian family-owned producer with more than 35 years in the region, has acquired the Watershed name and begun releasing wines under the label. Fruit will continue to be sourced from a number of original Watershed growers, preserving the regional expression established under the prior business.

The initial release comprises a Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a Sauvignon Blanc Semillon and a second Cabernet Sauvignon to follow later in 2026. The wines are available exclusively through Get Wines Direct.

Calneggia Family Vineyards national sales manager, Jack Calneggia, said the acquisition was intended as a considered revival rather than a reinvention.

“The intention is not to recreate what was, but to build something that feels relevant now, while respecting the foundations that made Watershed recognisable,” he said.

The Watershed name had been held by Heytesbury Wine Group, the family-owned entity behind Vasse Felix, which acquired the Wallcliffe Vineyard and Winery assets when Watershed wound up in 2018. No wines were released under the Watershed label during that period.

Calneggia Family Vineyards operates a portfolio of Margaret River brands including Rosabrook, Pas Touché, Bunkers, Bramble Lane, Flinders Bay, and Barking Tree, and imports Italian wines under the Calneggia label.
