Western Australian distillery Great Southern Distilling Company took home three trophies and three gold medals from the 2016 Australian Distilled Spirits Awards for its Limeburners spirits and whiskies.

It was named Champion Australian Distiller and won the Champion Small Batch Spirit and Champion Whisky trophies.

It also picked up three gold medals, a silver, and two bronze medals.

The Distillery’s Heavy Peat expression took the title of Champion Whisky for two years in a row.

Limeburners' Single Malt Director’s Cut – a limited release from a combination of American Oak and French Oak ex Frankland River Muscat barrels – won gold.

The Great Southern Distilling Company is located on the edge of Princess Royal Harbour in Albany, WA, and is run by Cameron Syme (pictured, with Michael Hall).
