Sanitarium is tapping into the free-from megatrend with the launch of a gluten-free variant of its Up&Go liquid breakfast drink.

Gluten Free Up&Go contains high amounts of protein and fibre, is 98.5 per cent fat free and provides half of an adult’s daily calcium requirements - and it also scores a health star rating of 4.5 stars, according to its maker.

Sanitarium also recently launched a gluten-free variant of Weet-Bix, and like classic Up&Go, Gluten Free Up&Go contains the protein and energy of two Gluten Free Weet-Bix and milk, the company says.

Sanitarium's Up&Go brand manager Jaemes Tipple, said the product was developed in response to feedback from the growing number of consumers who avoid gluten.

“We know that approximately 1 in 70 Aussies have Coeliac disease and many others are eliminating or limiting gluten in their diet, so we’ve developed Gluten Free Up&Go to provide a convenient, great-tasting, gluten-free liquid breakfast choice, in addition to the market-leading regular Up&Go.”

Gluten Free Up&Go is available in two flavours – Choc Ice and Vanilla Ice.
