Victorian chicken processor Turi Foods will soon be known as TUROSI following a merger with a US-owned supplier of value-added protein-based products.

Turi is merging with US-owned OSI Group, a supplier of custom value-added food products, including McDonalds’ beef, and the merged entity will provide full value-added processing capability and more products.

TUROSI will bring together Turi Food’s expertise in Australian poultry farming and processing with OSI Group’s scale and reach, according to Grant Thornton's national head of Food & Beverage Tony Pititto, who advised Turi Foods on the transaction.

Turi's food brands of La Ionica, Bannockburn, Golden Farms and Colonial Farm will be added to OSI's range.

Turi Foods is a family-owned company based in Thomastown with facilities throughout Victoria. The company supplies major supermarkets, quick service restaurants, specialty chicken retailers, butcher shops, and roast chicken outlets.
