Food packaging specialist, tna launched a new addition to its intelli-flav seasoning range at Snackex 2013 in Sweden.

This latest incarnation, the intelli-flav 5, has been designed to build on, and add to, existing equipment.

It has also been built to provide consistent coverage and flavour in both wet and dry applications, and is fully integrated with both oil spray and flavour injection systems, and provides total control of adhesion and fast flavour changes for snack lines.

Its responsive variable mass seasoning system and dynamic vibratory weigher directly controls oil spray and powder flow into the drum. This enables an accurate, proportional amount of seasoning to be evenly applied to the product for improved coverage and flavour dispersion.

The enhanced position of the scarf plate on the in-feed – it’s mounted to the edge of the drum – means the scarf better directs the product into the spraying and flavouring area, providing high quality seasoning performance.

Additionally, the newly designed scalloped in-feed conveyor allows more product to enter the seasoning drum, while also helping to control product direction for greater accuracy and reduced waste.

The intelli-flav 5 is also fully enclosed for increased levels of hygiene and ease of cleaning, and a new pivoting drum improves accessibility for hard to reach areas, simplifying day-to-day operations.

tna managing director Michael Green said the intelli-flav 5 was “specifically designed to push the performance limits of OMS, while meeting the latest seasoning challenges faced by food manufacturers”.

“With demand for snacks at an all-time high, manufacturers need seasoning systems that consistently deliver on speed, accuracy and flexibility,” he said.
