Tetra Pak has appointed Michael Wu, who brings 18 years’ experience across the company’s global business, as its new managing director of the Oceania region.
Wu will lead the company’s operations in Australia and New Zealand, supporting customers with packaging and processing solutions that help deliver safe food, reduce environmental impact within their operations, and strengthen food systems.
Wu joins Oceania from his most recent role as market operations quality and sustainability director. Prior to this, he was managing director of Tetra Pak Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Indonesia, where he led the company's operations across one of the most diverse and dynamic regions.
During his career, he has held a range of commercial and operational leadership roles, including vice-president of commercial and cluster leader for Greater China, and director of supply chain integration, working across China, Canada and Southeast Asia.
A firm believer in the role of business as a force for good, Wu is passionate about driving positive societal impact, particularly in the areas of food availability, safety and environmental sustainability.
Commenting on his appointment, Wu said he was looking forward to leading the Oceania team and building on the business's momentum in the region.
“Australia and New Zealand are home to a dynamic and innovative food industry, and I am excited to be joining such a strong team,” he said.
“Our customers are navigating changing consumer expectations, evolving technologies and increasing focus on sustainability, while continuing to deliver safe, nutritious food and beverages to communities every day.
“Tetra Pak is uniquely positioned to support them through innovation, with deep industry expertise and a commitment to helping build more resilient and sustainable food systems.”
“I look forward to working alongside our customers, partners and colleagues to unlock new opportunities for growth while contributing to a future where food is safe, available and sustainable for generations to come.”
