Australian food manufacturer Rinoldi has extended its sweet brand portfolio with the acquisition of The Old Colonial Cookie Co.
In 2013, Rinoldi Group acquired The Byron Bay Cookie Company after it entered voluntary administration, and also purchased the Young Roller Flour Mill in 2012.
The Old Colonial Cookie Co was established in 1981 and its operations are based in Lilydale in the Yarra Valley, Victoria. The company is best known for its Butterfingers brand range of shortbreads.
“As one of Australia’s longest established food businesses, we have a strong heritage in wholesome food offering, and are pleased to be adding The Old Colonial Cookie Co. to our portfolio of premium quality brands,” said Rinoldi director Bill Quayle.
“We look forward to working with the staff, suppliers and customers to continue growing this great local brand in Australia and overseas.”
Rinoldi intends to maintain The Old Colonial Cookie Co operations in Victoria, as well as stabilise operations and production in Lilydale, and “to shore-up trade agreements with customers”.
The Old Colonial Cookie Co now joins Rinoldi’s portfolio of brands, which includes Vetta Pasta, Nanda, Luken & May Biscuits and Falwasser Crispbreads.
