Indigenous owned company, SupplyAus Holdings has appointed Nerida Brink head of food and beverage and its new ‘coffee guru’.
Most recently, Brink worked with St. Ali Coffee Roasters and grew its Queensland footprint from two locations to 47.
Her appointment with SupplyAus came after it acquired one of Queensland’s most recognised coffee brands, Aromas Coffee Roasters earlier this year.
“As the food and beverage arm of the business becomes a strategic priority for SupplyAus, I am excited to guide and support the team to make a real impact.
“My time at St Ali’s is one of the proudest moments in my career, but I couldn’t turn down SupplyAus when I heard about their vision for the Indigenous community from [Co-Founders] Adam Williams and Shawn Andrews,” Brink said.
SupplyAus co-founder Adam Williams said he shares in Brink's excitement when looking to the future of the coffee arm of the business under her guidance.
“Nerida is a true asset to our business, and we are proud to welcome her to the SupplyAus executive team.
“Along with her decades of experience, Nerida brings an alignment of values that are seen in her passion for and advocacy of the prevalence of Indigenous business in our every day,” Williams said.
Brink added, “When I was growing up, some of my best friends were Indigenous, and I saw what it meant for them to be represented. It has really driven my hunger to know and do more in this space.”
She has worked in the coffee sector for more than 18 years and will be responsible for reinvigorating the coffee arm of the business.
Williams said she has been involved in a number of business growth strategy sessions, including Aromas and DHUWA Coffee producer relationships.
“Beyond exploring ways we can incorporate native foods into our business, we are looking to generate a direct partnership with our producers – this is huge for our industry, and I am excited to see it unfold,” Brink said.
SupplyAus’s portfolio of businesses includes Aromas Coffee Roasters, DHUWA Coffee, Bunji Workwear, Jingeri, and SupplyAus Medical.
SupplyAus Holdings was born out of the Murra Indigenous Masterclass Program delivered by Melbourne Business School, where Co-Founders Adam Williams and Mununjali man Shawn Andrews met.
