Natural drink company Savvy Beverages says its no preservatives formula contains vitamins, superfoods, nootropics, and herbal active ingredients to help overcome mental barriers while meeting the demands on cognitive function.

Founder Mark Curry compares the brand’s ‘super drink’ Savvy to the 2011 movie, ‘Limitless’, and says the pain point of many working Australians is that it’s become harder and harder to meet the cognitive demands in today’s world.

Savvy Drink is a lightly sparkling beverage with zero sugar. It comes in three flavours, lemon lime, passionfruit and mixed berry.

“How does one find balance between energy, mood and mental wellbeing, when we are becoming a chronically overworked and stressed nation of people, juggling work, study, family and health?

“In ‘Limitless’, Bradley Cooper portrays Edward Morra, a struggling writer whose creativity and mental potential reach unprecedented new heights when he tries a nootropic product. We have bottled this product in drinkable form and added a range of other high-performing nootropic ingredients to help people perform mentally at a heightened level,” said Curry.

What are nootropics?
Nootropics are a diverse group of natural, semi-synthetic, and synthetic substances said to improve human thinking, learning and memory.

Nootropics are some of the natural ingredients of Savvy Beverages’ drinks. 100 per cent Australian-made, Savvy Beverages was created in Byron Bay by former NSW Supreme Court lawyer Curry.

“While trying to overcome mental health challenges in a natural way, I came across research on ingredients commonly referred to as nootropics or adaptogens. These ingredients have a huge number of benefits for cognitive function and mental well-being. I started to experiment with the ingredients in an attempt to boost focus and improve mental health challenges.

“My original powdered pre-mix became really popular amongst friends and colleagues, all just trying to get through the stresses of everyday life without feeling chronically exhausted and burnt out. I saw a gap in the market, I quit my job, moved back home, poured my life savings into my research and after being rejected by 33 manufacturers, got my big break and Savvy Beverages was launched,” said Curry.

Curry says Savvy Beverages gives you more energy than coffee, but in a natural way and with added ingredients to improve resilience to stress and anxiety as well.

Its blend of ingredients includes: Ashwagandha, Rhodiola rosea, Lion’s mane mushroom, L-Theanine, Panax ginseng, Creatine, Green tea extract, Natural caffeine, Vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12 and Vitamin C.

Savvy currently has two types of beverages on the market, Savvy Coffee and Savvy Drink. Savvy Coffee is available in two formats—biodegradable and compostable coffee pods, and biodegradable and compostable coffee powder. It is a lightly sparkling beverage with zero sugar and comes in three flavours, lemon lime, passionfruit and mixed berry.

“Savvy’s unique blend of ingredients increases the length of stimulation, improves focus and mood, reduces anxiety and stress and is created with natural ingredients, and no sugar.

“Many other products on the market use artificial ingredients and unhealthy amounts of sugar to create a palatable beverage with mental performance or energy benefits. However, lots of people are turning away from unhealthy options and are seeking out better alternatives for their health,” said Curry.

Curry says that as a business start-up, he wanted to make a difference in the community as a social enterprise, partnering with charitable organisations including the Black Dog Institute and Beyond Blue.

“I believe that it’s time for a healthy change, to make food and beverage healthier, to make labels cleaner so people know what they're having. To make education about nutrition, mental health and healthier living more available. Savvy represents a movement that seeks to improve people’s understanding of nutrition and mental health,” said Curry.
