The Australian Manufacturing Workers Union's (AMWU) call for the public to boycott the Streets ice cream brand kicked off on Sunday.

the AMWU's $250,000 “Streets Free Summer” campaign will appear on social and traditional media .

The boycott is in response to the plans of the Unilever-owned Streets facility in Minto NSW to terminate the current enterprise agreement of the 140 workers at the plant.

The company is reportedly seeking to slash workers pay by up to 46 per cent, as well as cut overtime penalties and their redundancy entitlements, according to the AMWU.

Unilever claims the current agreement is no longer sustainable for the plant, which makes Gaytime, Magnum and Paddle Pops.
