Premium spirits distributor, Spirits Platform, has added American whiskey brand, Michter’s, to its portfolio. Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Michter's is renowned for its high-quality bourbons, ryes, and American whiskeys.
Michter’s core range is US1 Bourbon, Rye, Sour Mash, and American Whiskey. It also produces limited releases such as its 10 Year Bourbon and Celebration Sour Mash.
Spirits Platform CEO, Ian Atherton, said Michter was known for its “meticulous” craftmanship.
Last year, Drinks International convened a panel of whisky experts from around the world that ultimately voted Michter the World’s Most Admired Whiskey. It was the first time an American brand had received the accolade.
“We are excited to become Michter’s distributor in Australia. We look forward to continuing building the brand on what is already a solid foundation in Australia’s best bars and retailers.
“Michter’s complements our well-established premium spirits portfolio and leverages our strong route to market capabilities,” Atherton said.
Michter’s president, Joseph J Magliocco, said Australia had a “large and passionate” community of whiskey connoisseurs.
“We are thrilled to partner with Spirits Platform in our ongoing mission to provide Australian whiskey fans with Michter’s rich and layered flavour profile,” Magliocco said.
Spirits Platform is also taking over distribution of Michter’s portfolio-mate Los Siete Misterios Mezcal, an award-winning brand from Oaxaca, Mexico.
