Leggo’s has launched its Vine Ripe pasta sauce range to tap into the growing demand for home-grown ingredients.

The ingredients used in the range include 100 per cent Australian vine-ripened tomatoes from the fruit bowl region in northern Victoria and southern NSW.

The tomatoes make up 94 per cent of the product, while the other ingredients – sugar, basil, olive oil, salt and natural flavour – are made up of both imported and local ingredients.

“We know that consumers are seeking Australian-grown produce so we’re confident shoppers will embrace the simple, quality ingredients and fresh flavour of this delicious new range,” said Tara Lordsmith, Simplot’s general manager of retail marketing.

The Vine Ripe range can be used as a simple stand-alone pasta sauce or as
a base for any Italian meal, according to Simplot.

The new range comes in three variants: Tomato and Roasted Garlic, Tomato and Basil and Tomato and Onion and is available at Woolworths, Coles and independent supermarkets at RRP $3.68 for 575g.
