Simplot Australia's managing director Terry O’Brien will retire next year with an internal candidate already appointed to step into his shoes.

O'Brien (pictured) will retire on 31 August next year, and will be replaced by the company’s executive director commercial Graham Dugdale, who will take the reins in March.

O’Brien has been with Simplot Australia for nearly 24 years and was appointed managing director in 2001 after eight years as its chief financial officer.

The company's Australian brands include Birds Eye, Leggo’s, Chiko and John West, and Simplot Australia says it has grown to become one of Australia’s most significant food manufacturers under O’Brien’s leadership.

Dugdale has been in his current role of the past three years and he's been with Simplot Australia since March 2004 in a variety of roles including executive general manager retail.

O’Brien will assist Dugdale (pictured below) with the transition.
