The San Churro chocolate café chain has committed to buying Fairtrade certified cocoa for the majority of the menu items sold across its 48 Australian stores.

San Churro says it will absorb the costs associated with the new offering so that its customers can continue to enjoy at no extra cost the same coverture chocolate that it imports from Spain.

San Churro founder, Giro Maurici, said: “Our mission is to serve the best chocolate in the most delightful way. For us, this is not only about creating happiness for our customers but also assisting the farmers who grow our cocoa in breaking the poverty cycle and improving the living conditions within their communities.

"As such, we are proud and excited to now offer a Fairtrade option to our customers.”
