Schneider Electric and Process Partners have forged a local partnership to provide a clean-in-place (CIP) assessment and improvement service for the food and beverage industry.

The companies say the new offering will deliver cost savings and improved operational efficiency benefits to food and beverage manufacturers.

The new solution encompasses an assessment on the CIP’s energy usage, process automation and the CIP equipment to boost cleaning performance, ensure key parameters are managed and to satisfy food safety requirements.

Companies will gain a holistic review of their CIP system to identify areas for improvement. These are captured and highlighted in a comprehensive report with detailed recommendations.

Schneider Electric said the partnership leverages its expertise in energy management, and Process Partners’ experience in designing, integrating and optimising new and existing CIP systems and food processing equipment.

Craig Roseman, food & beverage segment manager at Schneider Electric Australia, told Food & Drink Business that CIP system performance was a major challenge within the food and beverage industry, and this could adversely impact food safety as well as quality, manufacturing cost and plant capacity.

“Customers are looking for value above and beyond product selection,” Roseman said. “With this service, we can assist food and and drink companies with production at a process level. We are trying to positively impact their operation, which we believe will add dollars to their bottom line.”
