Robotic Automation has been appointed an authorised service and support partner for Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) in Australia and New Zealand, covering the full lifecycle of MiR autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) from design and commissioning through to maintenance and breakdown response.

MiR is a Danish manufacturer of AMRs for internal logistics and is owned by US automation group, Teradyne.

Robotic Automation has been appointed an authorised service and support partner for Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) in Australia and New Zealand.

The appointment means sites already running MiR fleets have an authorised local provider for service, spare parts and diagnostics, while new users can buy individual robots, multi-robot fleets or complete material handling systems through one integrator.

RA Group national service manager, Vedran Martinovic, said as autonomous mobile robots become increasingly important to warehouse and manufacturing operations, customers are looking for more than just the technology itself.

"They need local expertise, responsive support and a partner that can support their systems throughout the entire lifecycle. This appointment enables us to provide that level of support for MiR users across Australia and New Zealand,” Martinovic said.

Service and support

Support for MiR fleets will include:

  • Preventative maintenance programs;
  • emergency breakdown support;
  • spare parts supply and management;
  • technical troubleshooting and diagnostics;
  • fleet health monitoring;
  • system upgrades and optimisation;
  • operator and maintenance training; and
  • field service support across both countries.

Robotic Automation said it would provide field service technicians, technical specialists and engineering resources through its support network.

Integration scope

Robotic Automation has been appointed an authorised partner and support network for Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) in ANZ. It covers the full lifecycle of MiR autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) from design and commissioning through to maintenance and breakdown response.

Beyond servicing existing fleets, the company designs, supplies, installs and commissions MiR-based intralogistics systems. Target applications are:

  • Autonomous pallet transport;
  • production line replenishment;
  • warehouse and distribution centre automation;
  • fleet management and traffic control;
  • integration with conveyors, palletisers and stretch wrappers; and
  • warehouse management system (WMS) integration.

The appointment provides manufacturers, warehouses and distribution centres with access to an authorised partner for the complete MiR lifecycle. Customers can access solution design, supply, installation, commissioning, maintenance, spare parts and ongoing technical support through a single provider with expertise in both mobile robotics and broader automation systems.

Robotic Automation, part of RA Group, has more than 38 years of automation experience and over 3500 installations across Australia and New Zealand. Its existing work covers industrial robotics, palletising, welding, machine tending, AMRs and intralogistics.

The company joined engineering group Varley Group in August.
