Patons Macadamia has launched its own range of Macadamia Milk under the Suncoast Gold brand.

Patons, which makes macadamia products such as flavoured macadamia and macadamia oil, has added two flavours of milk to the range, original and unsweetened.

According to Patons, the milk is cholesterol free, high in monounsaturated fats and a great source of antioxidants, proteins and dietary fibre, which helps to keep us feeling satisfied for longer and works to lower the risk of heart disease, and tastes great.

“Macadamia Milk is a tasty, lactose free and gluten free, non-dairy drink alternative containing all the great health benefits that macadamias offer,” Tim Jarman, Patons head of sales and marketing, says.

“People are learning more about the health benefits of various nut milks, which is driving the growth of non-dairy alternatives beyond soy, such as almond and hemp milk. We’ve responded by launching our very own range and we’ve already seen considerable interest from retailers in Australia and overseas.”

Australia is the world’s largest macadamia nut producer according to IBISWorld, thanks to the ideal climate found in northern New South Wales and south eastern Queensland.

The range is now available for a recommended retail price of $4.69 at independent IGA supermarkets and natural food stores and in early 2015, it will be available at some Woolworths stores.
