A $35 million infant formula manufacturing facility will be built near the new Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport by joint venture partners Nature One Dairy and Au Lait Australia.

The facility will be located on the Wellcamp Business Park that adjoins the airport, according to ABC Rural, and is expected to export 30 million tins a year.

The consortium will be called the Toowoomba Integrated Milk Project, and its goal is to send jumbo jets of milk products – fresh, UHT and infant formula – direct to Asia every day.

The facility is reportedly to be built in two stages and will also incorporate a nearby dairy farm.
