The National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Australia (NASAA) has welcomed industry identities Tim Marshall and Mark Anderson to the Organic Board during its annual general meeting.

NASAA Organic is a not-for-profit association that supports, promotes and educates industry and consumers in organic, biodynamic and sustainable agricultural practices.

Marshall - who will take on the role as chairperson - was a member of the National Steering Committee that established NASAA, from 1984-86, and has had extensive experience in organic production and international trade, while Anderson is the director and CEO of Every Body Buildings and Access Living Australia – both companies which aid in delivering disability housing for the federal government’s National Disability Insurance Scheme.

They will join ongoing directors, Phil Rowe, Phillip Sutherland and Liz Pitcher, on the NASAA Organic Board.

“Joining the NASAA Organic Board provides an opportunity for me to look at some of the issues concerning access to organic food for all of our community,” said Anderson.

“I am committed to the idea that sustainable agriculture is one of the most important things we can do to create a better future.”

General manager Alex Mitchell said Marshall and Anderson bring a lot of experience in the sustainable business and regenerative farming space.

“The NASAA Organic team will be working closely with the Board over the next couple of months to determine what the industry needs in support and education, and addressing the specific needs in regional and rural areas for 2021,” said Mitchell.

NASAA Organic is based in South Australia and held its AGM virtually for its members.
