Melbourne-based cheese manufacturer, That’s Amore Cheese, has appointed former Nestlé managing director, Marco Alghisi, as the company’s new chief executive officer.

That’s Amore Cheese was founded by Giorgio Linguanti in 2008, and has since expanded from making a single cheese product, to over 60 specialty cheeses.

Newly appointed CEO, Marco Alghisi, brings knowledge and expertise to That’s Amore Cheese from his previous 25 years at Nestlé. The appointment represents a new chapter for the company, with Alghisi stating he is keen to apply the lessons from his career and personal life to lead the family-owned Italian cheese company.

Alghisi said that he was excited for this new adventure at That’s Amore Cheese.

“Joining this remarkable cheese company, I look forward to leading us into a future brimming with innovation, tradition, and the finest quality products,” he said.

“We are already working on an exciting roadmap to 2030 and together, we'll continue to bring a taste of Italy to Australia and elevate our brand to new heights.”

His career began in the Milanese fashion industry, where he worked in a family business for nearly a decade, before transitioning to Nestlé.

Alghisi held various roles in finance, marketing, sales, and supply chain over his 25 years with the company, ultimately becoming managing director.
