The Food Revolution Group (FOD) has appointed Steven Cail as its CEO, after joining the company as CFO in March. Former CEO and managing director Tony Rowlinson has also resigned from the board.
FOD chair Norman Li said Cail had a “huge impact” on the business in short space of time, which brought his “obvious succession forward”.
“Steven’s commercial and operational ability to drive our growth strategy is exactly what we need in order to lead our success going forward,” Li said.
FOD manufactures a range of juices, fibres, infused fruits and fruit waters that is sells under its own brands Original Juice Co and Juice Lab as well as supplying to others. It developed current counter extraction (CCE) technology with CSIRO to extract juice from fruit and vegetables.
The group has also refinanced with a five-year agreement with NAB, securing a $6.5 million equipment finance loan, a $1 million invoice finance facility and $600,000 bank guarantee.
The equipment loan will be used to replace the company’s existing Greensill factory.

The board has appointed Jac Phillips as an independent director. It follows the company announcing in February it would appoint independent directors to help in the management of the business as well as corporate governance.
Phillips has worked at Visa, Bank of Melbourne with board experience at Good Cycles, Skin & Cancer Foundation Inc, and Fitted for Work.
Li said Phillips credentials were a “fantastic step for the next horizon of the FOD turn-around”.
“Jac is an experienced brand and marketer, a champion for leadership, diversity, change management and good governance, and we look forward to her guidance and direction moving forward.”
